Julian Tim Morton Eilmann, Script and Continuity

Julian Tim Morton Eilmann studied history, art history and German literature at the University of Aachen and also in Nottingham. As a Mineworks Film editor he is an expert in the field of history and focuses on historical and cultural documentary topics. He has published numerous scholarly articles on historical topics.

For Real Buddy Julian Tim Morton Eilmann brings in his talent as the script continuity supervisor and thus functions as the personalised memory of the director. With high diligence the 27-years old pays attention to all details in frame. Whenever there is a question from any production department Julian Tim Morton Eilmann is the one who checks his large amount of paperwork and photographs to bring everything in order.

“When I was first asked by Frank Mirbach to be part of the REAL BUDDY crew it has been a great pleasure for a filmmaker like me. It does not happen quite often that an ambitious Science Fiction movie with such an enthralling story is realised outside the Hollywood industry. That it would be a lot of work has been clear for me from the very start but whenever you see a scene coming to life with one of these brilliant actors it is worth all the countless hours we all spent on this project.

Being responsible for REAL BUDDY’s continuity came in handy because paying attention to details that might be otherwise overlooked forms the basis of both my academic and editorial work. But when you are out there on location day after day shooting the whole night it can be hard even for me to decide on a peripheral detail in the frame’s background… Therefore organisation and paperwork is essential to make REAL BUDDY fun to watch.”

Next to his profession in the TV-industry Julian Tim Morton Eilmann works as an independent filmmaker and has been awarded with the German Youth Video Award in 1999 for his first short movie. Interested in culture the young filmmaker furthermore acts as a gallery curator and art custodian for a number of public institutions and foundations.

His love for the literary works of J. R. R. Tolkien finds its expression in scholarly research in the author’s mythology. Currently he is preparing an essay on Peter Jackson’s Middle-earth motion picture trilogy.
